169th Fighter Wing at the Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center

F-16s from the South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th FW are at the Savannah CRTC this week.  Based on what I heard on the scanners and saw when I went by the airport on Tuesday, they had at least 12 aircraft at the CRTC.  They used their normal callsigns of MACE, VIPER, and DEMON along with usual air-to-air frequencies 141.825, 143.625, and 143.250.

Additionally, there are 4 T-38s at the CRTC that seem to be working along with the 169th FW’s F-16s.  Yesterday morning, they flew with the F-16s against F-15s from the 125th FW at Jacksonville off of the Georgia Coast.  When I heard the T-38s, they were using the callsign COLD and were using 142.625 for air-to-air.
