Special Event Stations to Look For, 2-3 June 2012

This will be a great weekend for hunting special event stations!  Historic events such as D-Day and the Battle of Midway combine with Museum Ships on the Air weekend to provide plenty of stations to hunt for.  Museum Ships Weekend is one of my favorite amateur radio weekends of the year!

After two weeks, it seems that the Special Events post is a success.  The Memorial Day post had 62 page views, not bad for a small blog like this!  If you have a special event you’d like me list in one of these posts, please send me the information and I’ll make sure to include it.

Museum Ships on the Air Weekend:

The weekend of 2-3 June is the 2012 Museum Ships on the Air weekend, an outstanding opportunity to work amateur radio stations aboard museum ships around the globe.  This is an event that I really enjoy even though I don’t get competitive about seeing how many I can work.  For a list of the ships that will be active, see the Battleship New Jersey Amateur Radio Society’s website: http://www.nj2bb.org/museum/
