I was reading the newspaper during lunch and saw some sad news in the obituaries. My 5th grade teacher at Isle of Hope Elementary, Mrs. Carolyn Luten passed away on Christmas Day. Mrs. Luten was one of the best teachers I had and was an incredibly positive influence on not just my life but many of her other students as well. She cared not only about our education but about making us better people. My parents saw her from time to time and they said she always asked about me. It’s hard to believe she could remember us with all of the students that passed through her classroom during her long career. Mrs. Luten was the kind of teacher we need more of today. My thoughts and prayers will be with her family and the many students she touched. The world is an incredibly better place having had her in it. God Bless You Mrs. Luten.

Most of my amateur radio activity is voice because I mostly operate from a mobile station (listen out for me operating from Jekyll Island, IOTA NA-058). On the radio monitoring side of things, I enjoy listening to military aviation, Fire/EMS, and USCG/Federal comms. I'm a sports car/touring/GT, Formula 1, and IndyCar racing fan who's become disenchanted with NASCAR racing. Due to my job, I split time between Savannah and Brunswick, GA View all posts by KF4LMT
