A Stop at the Phinzy Swamp Nature Park in Augusta, GA

Augusta, GA – During last weekend’s Augusta trip, I stopped in at the Phinzy Swamp Nature Park near Augusta Regional Airport to see what it was like. I’ve seen photos taken at the center online and read about before, but I wanted to see whether it would be worth the occasional drive from Savannah to walk the trails and take photos. On Saturday’s visit, it was hot, humid, and buggy (the horseflies were terrible), but there was wonderful scenery and I saw a lot of egrets and ibis at one of the ponds. I really want to get back to Phinzy Swamp during Autumn or Winter and see what it has to offer during migratory waterfowl season.
