A Christmas Visit to the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge

Savannah – Part of the way I celebrated Christmas this year was a visit to the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. Christmas morning was a beautiful, clear morning following several days of heavy rain, so it turned out to be a great day for a visit. Alligators and turtles were out taking advantage of the warm morning sun after several days of overcast and rain and while I didn’t see very many ducks, there were a lot of Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets, and Great Blue Herons along the Refuge’s canals and pools.
