Amateur Radio Repeaters covering I-95 in Georgia
The repeaters and simplex frequencies listed below are the ones on which you will find much of the VHF/UHF amateur radio activity in the Coastal Georgia area, especially along the I-95 Corridor. It isn’t comprehensive, but this list will give the new ham or visiting ham the best places to look for activity. Hi Mac,
Here is a link I found to build a 2 meter / 70cm Jpole antenna or buy if you don’t want to build.
Thought you may want to pass on.

I am relocating to the Savanna area and am having a difficult time trying to find a “Ham Friendly” home. My choice of realtors has only been interested in HOA type complexes which of course, are not interested in having me around. . Can anyone direct me to areas that may allow amateur antennas? Thanks,
73,
Ron W3PV
Hi Ron, to be perfectly honest I haven’t the first clue, but I’m trying to find out some information for you. I’ve posted the question to the Coastal Amateur Radio Society Facebook page, hopefully one of the club members may have some information. https://www.facebook.com/Coastal-Amateur-Radio-Society-244722709116/
Ron, send me an email at kf4lmt at gmail – I’ve got some contact information for someone who may be able to help you out.
Thanks, I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Ron – W3PV
Hey, Mac… Lots of great info here, so thanks! I noticed a correction you could make regarding the VHF repeater in Guyton. That repeater is still owned by Effingham county, but the trustee is now the SouthEast District ARES group, and the call sign is W4ECA (W4 Effingham County Ares). The Frequency, offset, and PL tone info you have is still correct.
Thanks for providing all this info. I’m sure I’ll be back when I start looking at scanners!

Thanks for the update, Steve. I’m not up in Savannah as much as I once was due to work and am even more rarely in Effingham, so any updates are always welcome!
